History

House present on the plan drawn up in 1795, which could date the 2nd half of the 17th century. Ange Laurent Giovaninelli was born there on September 15th, 1837 and died on August 28th, 1903 to Frénois. All its career(quarry) in the Infantry was admitted to the military special School of Saint-Cyr(French military academy) in 1855, then carried out. Twenty-year-old second lieutenant, he serves in Algeria and fights in Italy and in Mexico within the Foreign Legion until the rank of captain. Promoted major during the campaign(countryside) of 1870, he commands the 2nd battalion of hunters on foot then the 19th battalion of walking of the same weapon. He serves within the troops from Versailles against the Commune de Paris in 1871. Promoted colonel on August 22nd, 1880, he takes the command of the 128th regiment of infantry in Sedan. In 1884, he is appointed to command Tonkin a regiment of walking trained by three battalions of heavy infantry. During the French-Chinese war, he is a member of both French brigades which went back up high Tonkin and conquered in February, 1885 the city of Lang Son, in the North of current Vietnam. He is promoted brigadier on March 4th, 1885. Founder member of the Company of geography of Lyon, Giovanninelli is raised to the rank of major general on July 12th, 1890. Having commanded successively the 13th infantry division then the 3rd army corps, he is appointed a president of the Committee of the infantry in 1894 and siege to the upper Council of the war. He receives the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor in 1899, and dies in his property of Frénois, near Sedan, in 65 years.

THE SITUATION

Pastoreccia is a hamlet of the village of CASTELLO-DI-ROSTINO, typical village of Center of Corsica. The B&B LA MARLOTTE is situated in the northwest of Castagniccia, in limit of the Regional Natural Reserve. Whether it is for a weekend or your holidays, you will ideally be placed to visit the North and the center of the Island.

In the heart of the house, you will find common rooms, intended for the user-friendliness, for the exchanges or for the leisure activities.

First of all, the dining-room, where our hosts share the breakfast.

Then, the lounge, where you can watch TV on big screen, read, play or simply relax.

A few steps away from the house, a garden is at your disposal to take advantage completely of the sun, the view(sight) on mountains or of sunsets.
